Meet the Mistall Leadership Team

The people behind Mistall, focused on clarity, proof, and real outcomes for parking operations. Our goal is simple: help your team move from reactive fire drills to confident, evidence-backed decisions.

The People Behind Mistall

Mistall is built and led by people who understand what parking teams are up against, disconnected systems, high-stakes questions from leadership, and not enough time to pull clean answers together.  Our leadership team stays close to the day-to-day reality of campus and city operations, fragmented systems, pressure from stakeholders, and not enough time to build reports from scratch. That experience shows up in how we build, how we support, and how we communicate: direct, honest, and focused on outcomes you can point to.

Meet Blake Laufer, Founder/CEO

Blake Laufer is an entrepreneur, investor, and contributor with a long history in the parking industry. He started his first company in 1992 building management software for permits and enforcement, and later sold to T2 Systems in 1999. Blake remained at T2 where he was responsible for all product development (hardware, software, QA), until the company was sold in 2011. Blake exited the company at that time but returned a year later to lead parking research and data analytics projects.

Blake has a formal educational background in Physics and Computer Science. He graduated from McMaster University. In 2008 he graduated from the Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) program offered in conjunction with the University of Virginia and IPMI.

In 2006 Blake was honored by the Canadian Parking Association to receive the prestigious Ed Keate Award for outstanding contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the parking industry.

Blake was an inaugural member of the IPMI’s Technology Committee where he volunteered for more than a decade, contributing to dozens of articles, and

presentations related to technology. In addition to the IMPI he’s presented in

Canada for the CPA, in Dubai for the Middle East / North Africa parking association, and in Germany for the World Parking Symposium.

In 2017 Blake returned to his entrepreneurial roots with a new start-up company, Mistall Insight, providing parking occupancy detection and analytics bringing together a variety of hardware, software, and artificial intelligence tools.

Meet Franklin McPherson, VP Sales & Marketing

Franklin McPherson is a seasoned parking industry professional with more than three decades of experience spanning operations, technology, sales, and account management. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Guelph, which provides a strong analytical foundation for strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making.

Franklin has worked in the parking industry since 1994, developing deep expertise across both public and private sector environments. From 1994 to 1999, he worked with Blake at his first startup, Logic4U, where he wore many hats, including sales, account management, customer support, and system installation. This hands-on experience gave him a comprehensive understanding of parking technology from the ground up.

From 1999 to 2022, Franklin served in sales and account management roles at T2 Systems, building long-term client relationships and supporting complex, large-scale deployments. In 2022, he joined Mistall, where he continues to help organizations unlock value through innovative, data-centric parking occupancy solutions.
